The scientific name of this essential oil is Satureja hortensis. The organ used in extracting the essential oil of this plant is its aerial branches. The extraction type is steam distillation. The color of this essential oil is often yellow, and the chemical composition of the analysis of the essential oil of the savory plant is thymol, carvacrol, and gamma-terpinene. It seems that this plant was first cultivated in Italy.<\/p>\n

Medieval physicians believed it had a curative effect on gout, and in the 15th and 16th centuries, people considered it a tonic, abortifacient, and paralysis reliever. In 1582, they succeeded in extracting essential oil from savory.<\/p>\n
